And here’s the irony.
As the Gulf moves into a major repair cycle, Aberdeen becomes a talent pool. Not for local projects. For export.
The IEA has flagged serious damage across more than 40 energy assets. These aren’t small jobs.
We’re talking multi billion dollar LNG plants, refineries and gas processing hubs. Single projects running into $5bn to $20bn depending on scope and rebuild.
It needs people.Lots of them
Civil. Mechanical. Electrical. Instrumentation. Piping. Process. Commissioning.
The full stack.
So while the UK hesitates, others will move. And they’ll come to Aberdeen to hire engineers who can mobilise fast.
We won’t build here. We’ll supply the people who build elsewhere.
It won’t be for everyone but for the flying squads brave enough to take on the challenge I would imagine rates will start at £1000/ day
