Suddenly Oil and Gas are appearing in CVs again not windmills
Over the last few years something strange happened on LinkedIn.

Over the last few years something strange happened on LinkedIn.
Several oil and gas engineers told me they felt they were being quietly cancelled.
Some said clients no longer wanted the words oil and gas on their CV. Others were advised to talk about transition projects, hydrogen, or renewables instead.
So people adapted.
Profiles changed. Offshore projects became energy transition projects. Windmills replaced drilling rigs in job descriptions.
But the market has a habit of reminding us how the world actually works.
With tensions in the Middle East and growing concern about the Strait of Hormuz, energy security has suddenly moved back to the top of the agenda. Around 20 million barrels of oil a day, roughly one fifth of global supply, moves through that narrow channel.
When markets worry about supply, investment usually follows. And when investment follows, hiring begins.
The biggest hotspots right now are:
US Gulf Coast LNG projects Qatar North Field expansion UAE and Saudi offshore projects Guyana offshore developments Brazil deepwater fields West African gas projects
The same skills are in demand everywhere.
Process engineers Pipeline engineers Integrity engineers Inspection and NDT specialists Project engineers
After fifty years recruiting in this industry I have seen the cycle many times.
