Is the Iran War Creating a Surge in NDT & Inspection Jobs Across the Middle East?
The short answer: yes — and the demand is accelerating fast.

Since US-Israeli strikes on Iran began in late February 2026, at least 40 energy assets across nine Middle Eastern countries have been “severely or very severely” damaged, according to the IEA. With a $25 billion repair bill estimated for Gulf energy infrastructure alone, and inspection being the first phase of any rebuild, the need for qualified NDT technicians and inspectors is spiking across the region. Here’s where the work is and who they’re hiring.
🇸🇦 Saudi Arabia — The #1 Hotspot Saudi Arabia is the single busiest market, with over 80 NDT technician positions posted in Dammam alone. Iran repeatedly targeted the Eastern Province, putting Aramco’s pipelines and upstream assets directly in the firing line. Demand is highest for PAUT/TOFD technicians, API 510/570 inspectors, corrosion/UT specialists, and ASNT Level II/III across all methods. Saudi Vision 2030 megaprojects like NEOM are still hiring in parallel, so war-related inspection demand is stacking on top of an already active market.
🇦🇪 UAE — High Volume, High Urgency Dubai’s Jebel Ali port was struck in March, and Abu Dhabi’s Habshan gas complex was temporarily shut after debris from intercepted missiles caused fires. Damage assessment and structural integrity work is now in full swing. The UAE is actively hiring visual/structural inspectors, API 653 tank inspectors, RT/UT Level IIs, and drone-based inspection specialists — a growing priority as the UAE pushes advanced inspection technology for hard to reach assets.
